Zara Kinsman has completed her degree in Quantity Surveying and will be commencing her honours year at Glasgow Caledonian University in September 2017.

Sean Christie, Construction Director, is also progressing to completion a Masters in Business Administration at the University of Strathclyde. Sean is successfully undertaking this degree alongside his mentoring responsibilities of many of his colleagues mentioned above.

Mateusz Sleczka and Kevin Foy, initially employed and working as Groundworks Supervisors, have commenced their National Certificate in Civil Engineering. Success in this qualification will see them move towards engineering and site management roles within the organisation.

Congratulations to Daniel Munn who is now a fully qualified Engineer. Daniel was recruited through the Commonwealth Games Apprenticeship Initiative in 2010. Daniel is our first apprentice to qualify with several more apprentices now following in his footsteps and advancing through this valuable qualification.

Sam Hume has completed his first year as a Trainee Quantity Surveyor at Glasgow Caledonian University. Sam has been gaining an understanding of business operations including those of the buying department and administration.

Trainee Quantity Surveyor Aaron Smith will be entering his third year. His growing responsibilities within the business include assisting in estimating and project valuations.

Deans Civil Engineering Limited are delighted to announce that we were awarded the Developing Lanarkshire's Young Workforce Award at the Gala Awards Dinner Friday 3 March 2017. 

Managing Director, Steven Deans states that “the success at Deans Civil Engineering can be attributed to the engagement of talented young people, it is our duty to harness their energy and enthusiasm and we are delighted to be recognised for this achievement”.

Deans Civil Engineering have been appointed by Cruden Building & Renewals to carry out the groundworks for a new Social Housing Development at Meiklerig Crescent in Glasgow on behalf of Glasgow Housing Association.

As part of our commitment to aiding the development of our staff members two of our Site Managers, Mateusz Sleczka and Kevin Foy, have both began further education courses to become fully qualified Engineers.

Woodside Health Centre

WOODSIDE HEALTH CENTRE.

Deans Civil Engineering have successfully secured the groundworks package for the new Woodside Health Centre in Maryhill on behalf of Hub West Scotland. The company is pleased to begin working with new client Morgan Sindall on this project commencing in March 2017.

In a continuation of the successful partnership with Cruden Building & Renewals, Deans Civil Engineering have been appointed to carry out the groundworks for  Phase 1 of the new flatted development at St Andrews Drive in Glasgow.

  • Ria Smart as a Trainee Accounts Assistant based at our Head Office.

Royal Mail Depot Refurbishments

ROYAL MAIL DEPOT REFURBISHMENTS.

Following the successful completion of earlier phases of refurbishment works with our client Wates Retail, Deans Civil Engineering have been awarded a further package of refurbishment works at various delivery offices throughout Scotland including Elgin and Perth.

We have been selected as a shortlisted finalist in the Lanarkshire Business Excellence Awards 2017 for the category of Developing Lanarkshire's Young Workforce Award.

Deans Civil Engineering have secured a first project from new client Graham Construction to carry out the external and finishing works at the new Muirhouse Health Centre.

Bothwell Street Enabling Works

BOTHWELL STREET ENABLING WORKS.

JANUARY 2017

Following the successful completion of the enabling works package at 122 Waterloo Street, Deans Civil Engineering have been appointed by McLaughlin & Harvey to carry out the enabling works package for a speculative office development at the adjacent Bothwell Street site including the demolition of existing concrete retaining structures, basement excavations and piling mats.
